The truth of the matter.
A matter is one event and the pile of records around it: a loss, a dispute, an estate, an allegation. We keep every record as it arrived and assemble one account that holds up.
What we do
Expert analysis and synthesis of high volume, critical records.
Matters now arrive as data: drives of documents, years of email, hours of video, and exports from systems that were never meant to be read together. Working at that scale is our expertise, built over a career in business intelligence and software. We work from the records the parties provide and from public sources. Software does the heavy assembly, and a person checks it and stands behind the result.
Assemble
Documents, email, spreadsheets, video and system exports from every source, brought into one place without changing the originals.
Validate
A forensic fingerprint on every file and a check on where each record came from, when it was made, and whether it is what it claims to be.
Prepare
Timelines, maps and exhibits that cite the record behind every line, ready for the people who have to rely on them.
Advise
Plain answers about what the records can and cannot show, before decisions get made based on them.
Coordinate
We work alongside your attorney, adjuster, advisor, or investigator so the licensed parts of a matter stay with licensed professionals.
How a matter works
Four steps, in this order, every time.
Preserve
Every record is kept exactly as it arrived and fingerprinted, so any copy can be checked against the original.
Verify
Each record is checked for where it came from, when it was made, and whether it is what it claims to be.
Assemble
The records become one connected account of who, what, when and where.
Stand behind it
Software proposes and a person decides. Every statement cites the record it rests on.
Who it's for
For the matters that matter most.
Attorneys and advisors

Hunt and Gather is a consulting and technology development practice in the Minnesota Twin Cities metro, run by Matt Dubay.
Matt has spent his career in data in heavily regulated industries, first as a business intelligence engineer and then leading software design, development, and delivery at every level, including executive strategy. That work taught him the importance of checking every output so you can both trust and verify, and that habit runs through everything he builds.
Software does the heavy assembly. A person decides what it means and shows the work so anyone relying on it can check it, too.
